Day Two halfway done

I have to say, I visited track time NAP today. I hadn't planned on attending it so early, but I had a night visit from one camper a little upset at 2:30 am. He's fine and called his mom this morning to tell her so. Not 5 minutes after he left, I attempted to sleep again when I felt the TAP of something falling on me. SPIDER. He met Jesus soon after. It was me or him and God's not done with me yet. Needless to say, my fine adult helpers afforded me NAP from 2 - 3:30.

The kids are doing great. Their challenge last night "allow God to make you a tad bit uncomfortable, allow yourself a little journey out of your comfy spot, and see God do amazing things." Jesus could do it. He stepped out of glory into diapers on a journey to a cross. We can follow his example. Step out, follow directions, see God do awesome stuff.

Mom and Dad, some of YOU are out of your comfort zone with kids at camp. Are you looking forward to God doing awesome stuff?

We're here. According to my history books, after he arrived at the New World, Cortez' the explorer burned his ships to motivate his men. There was no way home... While I don't feel like I need the motivation to stay, it's odd to have the bus drop us off... and leave.

We're here. According to my schedule, dinner will be at 5:20... after 10 minutes of power sweat walking. Hows THAT for motivation. But we're all here and safe. I had to end a snack selling ring in he hall... Slim Jims were pricing close to $0.50 and Little Debbies were beyond expensive. Motivation to share will be instilled.

Dunno what the girls are doing... probably something involving spritzing or poofing. Girls do that kinda stuff. Us guys are gonna set a goal to not STINK the rest of the day. The Bus was a different story.

Maybe it's good it left.

I laugh and laugh at this picture... Mainly because it's silly, funny, a little sarcastic, and it references something I loved as a kid. It also reminds me of a biblical truth.. as much as you try to fake it on the outside, it's the inside truth that matters.

There's no way any amount of paint, numbers or "dixie horns" you can put in that car... you'll always get caught by Roscoe. There's no way enough Christian t-shirts, Jesus fish, and Christian catch phrases we learn... it makes us no different.

Jesus went so far as to compare people looking for external righteousness to white washed tombs. (Mt. 23:27) You can paint up and look pretty in the sun, but inside there's rot. The cure? True transformation, inside. (Romans 12:2)

I'm not sure you can shoehorn a 440 V8 in a SmartCar like that., but nothing is impossible with God. Just think. He's put His Spirit in you if you're a believer, and with that power and the truth of the Word working... VROOM!

I've never seen a week move so fast. We say that all the time but WOW, this zipped on by. The kids have done great. We've had a fantastic time. It's sad to pack up the vans this morning, but I know they're looking forward to seeing their own rooms and seeing their family again. No one is home sick, but there's nothing like home.

It's hard to believe tomorrow is the last full day. It seems like we just got here. For me it seems like it's flying (the 2 hour nap I got today helped, thank you leaders). We've done camp here so much, I know all the mechanics of it, eating, schedule, dorm, freetime, tracks, etc. So, nothing is suprising about that. God is suprising, always is.

God's gotten my attention this week, and it sounds like he's gotten the attention of others as well. Tonight I read the story of Jesus healing the man born blind, and how after his conversion he just dropped and worshiped... I've needed more drop and worship days. Days filled with one on one conversations with God. No frilly church talk prayin'... but "Hey God, here's my heart..." prayin' . I'm thinking you'll see some changes in your kids. Please help your kids keep the fire burning. How?

Instead of the normal "was camp fun? did you eat alot? did you ever shower?" kind of questions... Well OK, you can ask the shower question and solve that. THEN ask new questions:

What did you learn about Jesus this week?
Did God say any stuff to you this week?
Tell me about the songs you learned.
How did you grow in your faith at camp?
How can I help you to stay excited about the things you learned at camp?
Where is your quiet time book? I hear it's got more stuff to do at home.

My goal was to have at least one photo of every kid in a track activity. Logistically, that is impossible with so many kids with us this year. They have activities spread to all 4 corners of this campus! However, I do have photos of all the kids. I've also been shooting footage with a high-def video camera--I'll figure out some way to share that with folks. That camera is new so I'm still on the learning-curve with it--but should be able to make something that you can view on the computer.

The kids are great this year--especially given how many we have. They've had a blast. After they sleep through Saturday and wake up Sunday AM, I'm sure you will be hearing all the stories.

PS: Chris was wrong about the fall-asleep time on Monday night. It was 3:30AM for the boys. Tuesday night, on the other hand, was 8-14 seconds after their heads' hit the pillow.

Yeah we got a bigger bunch at camp, a little harder to settle in and settle down, but by 12:30 they were pretty much passed out. They're all up now... some talking in a low sleepy voice, others all "YAY MORNING YAY CAMP." At this point I'm somewhere in the middle.

I awoke this morning at 6:30, well before my 6:50 alarm. (we have late breakfast, so we can afford a couple more winks in the morning). As I stumbled out of my room, I glared down the hallway... what did I see? A young man, fully dressed, back pack firmly on his shoulder, standing tall (all 4 feet), the sun beams passing by his roomate's heads (who are peering out the door) and illuminating him as he stands, heroic.. awake. I swear I heard the Superman theme playing softly. "Derrick?" I said, "Why are you up and dressed??" (I didn't say it as much as barely mumble it at the top of my 6:31 voice) "HE GOT UP THINKING IT WAS 7:30," said one of his sidekicks, still just poking their noggins out of the doorway. "I didn't know what time it was, so I got up and I'm ready to go!" said Derrick.

I laughed, quietly thanked God for the awesomness of kids, then told em to chill out. "DUDE, we coulda slept," came from the Dormroom of Justice as I walked down to the shower. They do make me laugh...

Addendum... 4 guys just walked in. I won't say who it was. I will if you ask me later. "DUDE MR. CHRIS, THIS PLACE IS HAUNTED." Sure that A) ghosts don't exist and B) they don't like mornings... I said, "What?" "I took this picture last night of 3 guys in our room," said Ghostbuster 1 "There's an arm from another guy in the picture I SWEAR." Ready to get my proton pack to capture the spectre, I gazed at the pic. Apparently Ghostbuster 4 had his arm around the shoulder of Ghostbuster 3 in the picture, a cover from the bed stuck out just a bit to hide his arm, just showing the hand. "SEE THERE'S ANOTHER PERSON IN THE ROOM." Said Ghostbuster 1 and 2. Now they're trying to prove there was no mystery green towel or cover or something to cover the arm... none are getting coffee this morning.

It's gonna be a fun day :-D

We're here. There is buzzing, chattering, and questions about how fitted sheets work as we settle in the guys dorm. I don't know what's happening in the girls dorm. Probably talking about makeup, emotions and puppies. My wife will kill me for that.

Anyway we're here. God has protected us already, especially our luggage. Thanks to Scotty Hancock and Paw Paw for driving our luggage up here. We'll be updating here quite often.

Hey,
Thanks to everyone who helped at UPWARD! Your work and dedication made it a great season. I know you gave alot of hours, but you know those kids appreciate it so much. I was walking to the score table during the night game, and a coach and player informed me that player had been saved the night before. That's what it's about folks.

Easter is around the corner. We will not have Sunday School, just 2 services at 8:30 and 10:30. The evening is free, go enjoy time with the family!!

VBS is coming, what can you do?

1) Pray. No one knows what the needs are in each heart that here's our Message, pray that we'll be clear in teaching God's Truth
2) Pray more.
3) Volunteer. Think you gotta do a bunch? Well, honestly, we have made it easy! You can be a guide through VBS and it ain't that hard. We have teams mostly in place that teach, sing, play games, etc. But we need Crew Leaders! Crew Leaders have the easiest job, and it's the most rewarding! In fact, building those relationships is key to the success of VBS.
4) Find some crazy stuff to donate or let us borrow. Our theme is PowerLab (see previous post). It's a sciencey fun time. I'm looking for leads on some really odd stuff:

A large Freestanding Blackboard
Rope Lights
Old looking Computer Equipment
Science Equipment (like from a science lab)
Lab Coats, Goggles, etc
Dry Ice (ooo and liquid nitrogen while you're at it)

There's bunches we can do to make the place LOOK fun, but what makes the place REALLY feel fun is volunteers who are ready to just have a great time getting to know kids. Sign up in the welcome center... and if you have any of the crazy stuff above, come see me.

VBS IS COMING SOON

Hey,
It's February. In January we had warmth, snow, snow, normal winter, COLD, and rain (Thank you for the rain Lord, please send more). My wife can't believe I'm already thinking about Vacation Bible School... but I am!! Not just because the theme is so "me" (and it so is). But it's also such a focus week on our kids. It's a whole buncha fun too.

June 9 - 13, 2008
6:00 PM - 8:45 PM.

It's going to be an awesome time of faith building fantastical fun. This year it comes with a bonus! On Friday the 13th (oh my!) of Powerlab, we'll have a guest scientist in giving us a Science and Fun show! Ben Roy from Chattanooga will be on stage at our lab! Check him out at his website.

You can sign up to help in the Children's Welcome Center. It's gonna be a fizzy, funny, sciency, superfun, slimey, gooey, good time!

Sorry we haven't updated here in a while. The blog is a great tool for communicating with you folks and we will be doing more.

First off, thank you guys for such a great year at PVS. Mel and I appreciate all the kids and their excitement, all our staff and their service, all our parents and their trust, and all our volunteers who make this thing go. Sunday School Teachers, Awana Leaders, Children's Choir workers, Nursery Volunteers, Children's Church Volunteers, Upward Basketball Coaches and workers... man oh man. Thank you. God uses you even in the little things.

A GREAT Night!!

Tonight was a great first night for AWANA! The kids were so excited to be back and had a great time! In Cubbies specifically, the children were very busy and happy. We had a great time getting to know one another and beginning to memorize Scripture! Personally, I had a blast! Even after a full day of teaching second grade, I was energized and really looking forward to another great year in AWANA and Cubbies!

Sunday night's performance of the musical was great! What is even more impressive, they only had four days for learning the whole thing! I have seen programs with months of practice nowhere near the equal to the performance given by the PVS kids!

Having worked for some time in the children's department, this really comes as no surprise. The kids are so well-versed (both literally and figuratively) and are truly becoming the spiritual champions of tomorrow! I invite you all to take the opportunity to sit in on a regular Sunday School or AWANA session and see what I mean. You will truly be blown away at their spiritual maturity and application of biblical principles.

Parents, thank you for your dedication and faithfulness in the training of your children. Thank you for letting us be a part of their growth. Mark and Chris, thank you for your leadership and vision that carry the ministry to the next level. And, thank you PVS for dedicating yourselves to a ministry that impacts lives now and into the future.

Is Transformers for the transformed?

Focus on the Family's Plugged in Review <-- good Christian Review of the movie. I agree with his presentation on the moral issues of the film. I was set to write all that, but why waste internet space? Here's a few of my thoughts.

I saw Transformers today. I had mixed feelings about the movie from my nerd side to start with. I grew up when Transformers ruled the toy aisles and the afternoon toons, so I like my Transformers old skool (come to my office and I'll introduce you to Optimus Prime and his pals the way they should look). As the movie rumors and info began making news last year I really was disappointed with the choice of director (Michael Bay, his film style gives me a headache in more ways than one) AND with the designs of the robots.

So nerd side and children's minister side (I'm a big guy, I have many sides) had a conversation on the way home from the movie. (My brother was driving and I was holding the tropical fish he bought after the movie... next door at the fish store) Nerd side: Man the effects were cool, I'm not sure the designs were great, but did ya see when Rachet was blowin' up that badguy? OH the effects were some of the best I've ever seen. Honestly! So realistic and natural looking. Children's Minister side: Yeah yeah, realistic? How unrealistic a portrayal of teen relationships, parent relationships and dialog. BLUH. Come on, if you can't make a movie with kids characters without bringing up non kid themes then GET SOME CREATIVITY.

I use Transformers toys as illustrations for Bible stuff with our kids. It's great to use them to talk about Good vs Evil, Hidden talents, Hidden dangers, and that kinda stuff. The good guys battle the badguys in the film, the subtlety of it's great effects shows some hidden talents of the director... but its the hidden dangers of some adult themes that kill it. Would I recommend this movie to my kids? No. A flat no. I hate it say it. The nerd is saying "BUT THE EFFECTS..." But, I can't say "excuse the offensive stuff and take your 10 year old." It's PG-13 for a reason (and I'd hold back the 13 year olds as well).

Well, it's been a week but all the photographs are now available for viewing online. You can also order prints for yourself if you like. The images are cropped to best fit 4x6" prints. Unless you want more than one copy for each kid that went on the trip, don't order the group photo that is shown on the 'main' page--the kids are going to get a 5x7" copy of that.

Sorry it took so long to get the photos online. When I came into work last Monday morning after being away for a week, I had all the stuff from when I was gone. Plus, the building was struck by lightning at some point over the weekend so we lost all our computers, phone system, voicemail, alarm system, alarm keypads, air conditioning, thermostats, copier server, all our computer networking hardware, and our computer wall projector. We had repairmen in all week having to physically replace the hardware--they even had to tear out some of the motion detectors in the halls. I would also like to add that the one piece of electronic equipment that was not damaged, the fax machine, was the only equipment that was NOT plugged in via a surge protector--go figure!

It's the fourth. Time to reflect on our freedoms, time to be thankful for sacrifice and time to enjoy some family time. Mel and I are going to see my Dad. It's kinda neat seeing Jake playing in the same backyard I did growing up.

Make sure you've signed up your 1st - 5th graders for Music Camp July 23rd - 27th. It's gonna be a great time of music and praise. Kids will be learning a musical that they'll perform 29th. Don't miss out on this new summer program!

(We took a direct hit of lightning over the weekend and I know that we lost some computer equipment and phone system.) Anyways... Here we are on Friday morning. I slept in until 9:00AM this morning and it was WONDERFUL. ...I do miss camp, the kids, and the leaders. But at least I'm not milking cows, throwing up on an airplane, or getting hit in the gut on the football field. (Ask your kid, they'll explain it.) See y'all around! --Ted

Huh... no getting boys out of bed... no walk through muggy morning air to breakfast... no orange puppets... no chocolate milk... no eggs and bacon and grits and hashbrowns and biscuits and GRAVY!!... no quiet time in the garden... no OMC.

Must mean I'm not at camp.

Just reflecting on the week and how awesome they kids were. Just remembering how God spoke to them and helped them. How they learned so many truths in so many ways. How I learned how much I love God and how much I love his kids. Oh and I think Tater is the bomb.

Pizza... i always forget...

Ok so I woke up the last day at camp at 5:00 AM. Why? Pizza at 10:00 PM. I get stupid when I see a pizza. By 7:30 we should be all packed up, yeah right. I feel like I'm back at college with a big exam coming up. Except this exam involves packing a cargo van, transporting 30+ people safely across the state, feeding them lunch, and then getting those rentals back.

It's been such an honor to hang out with these kids. They've learned so much this week. They've learned that God has plans for them. It's his declaration. Plans for their good and not their harm. He's given them a future and a hope. (Jer. 29:11) They've run a lap of their race this week. They're on the right track if they truly listened to their crew chiefs.

Parents, instead of just asking, "How was camp?" ask "What did God do in your life at camp?" I know that's out of your comfort zone sometimes. They'll tell you silly stories about Bucky and Coop and OMC and syrup and penguins and orange puppets (that's my fault) and ice cream and all that silly stuff along and along... that fun stuff sticks in the brain like TV jingles. And that's fine. The God stuff, what God planted in their life, it needs water and attention. God planted some great seeds: missions, call, purpose, forgiveness, faith, hope, future... Don't forget Pit Crew Parents, you gotta keep those racers focused.

This is Ted... As Chris mentioned: today was OMC. I pulled the official photographer aside to make this photo of us so that there was proof that I actually do exist!! Here we are, the CREW CHIEFS in our glorious war paint. It was great that the adults got to participate in OMC also. Like yesterday, I only have time to upload just a few photographs. I will have all the images available soon, so be sure to check back--some of the best pictures have not been uploaded yet!

I have to go get my stuff packed. Tomorrow is going to be even more insanely early than this week has been. I also have to help get the kids packed. There's a lot of noise out in the hallway and I'm not sure how much packing is happening... but I also hear some of the boys singing one of the praise songs, "But I can't wait, to praise His name! I can't wait, to celebrate!"

This camp program can be summarized in two words: Content. Delivery.

At camp... they spend a week with Geeks like Ted, Jody and me. We do our best to turn them into nerds.

Tonight is the final night of worship. Pray the Gospel touches hearts tonight. Wouldn't God get praise if one of our kids said "I want to serve God full time" tonight at worship? Does that get you parents out of your comfort zone?

OMC is the most awesome game ever. I so mean it. There has never been a greater game than OMC. Have I mentioned I LOVE OMC? Kids get messy, get silly, get wet, get... wait... ADULTS get messy, get silly, get wet, get slimy get... ok ALL OF US ARE A MESS. Ted's pictures will reflect that soon. Man it's bunches of fun.

Last night the kids played a game that taught them about Third World countries, missionaries, and missions. Amazing that kids can have fun AND learn at the same time. In the game Claire and Tater were natural disasters (yeah, not much of a stretch). It's a game we'll play on a future game day.

Be sure to be at Church Sunday night. We'll give a program about camp. MAYBE we can get one up to give a testimony... if not we have them on tape. I'd like a parent to give a testimony on how camp has changed their kid's lives. Volunteers just need to e-mail me.

It's hard to believe we'll be close to home this time tomorrow. We'll be leaving about 10:30 or 11. Stopping for lunch around noon and hitting Rome about 2:30. Pray for us traveling, pray for our Student Ministry on mission, and pray for our Ukraine Mission Team.

I just showered the shaving cream, maple syrup, toothpaste, face paint and grass stains off. I'll not be wearing that shirt again. And, I was one of the lucky ones. OMC! It's the way to be.

This is Ted. I did not come anywhere close to getting all the photographs from today batched, processed, cropped, color adjusted, imported into flash player, uploaded via FTP, update the website link, password protect the original subfolder, and finally check everything. Geeks out there know what I'm talking about. For non-geeks, just understand that they ain't ready yet! ( - :

We started with a healthy breakfast...
Then did a little quite time...

Then we had a small break before the first morning 'big group' meeting...

After bible study, recreation, lunch, and afternoon track times, the girls went back to the dorms to get cleaned up for dinner/evening activities.

After the evening service, we did our lesson with the church group...

And later that evening, it was time to get some caffeine and pizza...
And, as caffeine does give you that boost of energy, it also only lasts for so long. It's 11:30PM now, and I'm looking at the bed and it 'sho looks like a comfortable place to be right now so Good Night! Thanks to y'all for the comments feedback!

Can I bring your kids back next week?

The kiddos are awesome. Today they learned about their Crew Chief: God, their Pit Crew: Parents, and their fans (Christian friends)... ok so I made that stuff up for them... but I thought it a cool analogy. But, you parents ARE their Pit Crew. How much advice are you giving them? Are you gearing them up for the Race? Is that Race a rat race the world wants them in or the Race to Righteousness that God wants them on? Think about the finish line you're pointing them to. Is it a worldly cup they're striving for or a Godly cup? Think about it.

I've used the movie Cars so much as an example that finally one of them said, "I didn't know Cars was a Christian movie!" I said, "Well it can be in some applications" He said, "huh?" I moved on.

Your kids, ALL of them have been the best behaved, lively, and fun bunch I know. I'd bring em back next week. Oh wait, not on the holiday... NO I WAS KIDDING. The week after. OH Next year for sure.

Some of our kids came forward for prayer and re dedication and stuff. Kids need your prayers every day. I miss my boy. Mel's being really brave about Jake not being here. Keep praying for her.

Tomorrow is our last FULL day at camp. Hard to believe it's half over.... *sigh*

The kids crashed last night... ok the adults and the kids crashed last night. 6:15 came WAY to quickly. The boys are getting themselves ready. I hear them yelling about cold water because they haven't let the shower heat up. Oh, I hope I didn't use all the hot water... heheheheh. (I didn't)

God moved the hearts of kids last night. Many from the groups attending went forward to talk about their relationship with Christ. I can see Him working on our kids as well. They're learning about the Romani people of Europe. They are commonly known as Gypsies. This people group is 3 million strong and they have no nation or permanent home. The kids are being challenged to give to support missionaries that reach out to them. They learned about a missionary to the Romani. He was an executive VP at Nike who accepted the call from God to missions. Wow, talk about outside your comfort zone!

Parents, are you pushing your kids outside the comfort zone? (camp is way out sometimes) Are you challenging them to be on mission at their school? Do they go to school to hang with their friends only, or are they reaching out to others? You guys are their example. How well you get along with folks that aren't your "friends" determines much of how they will. Just a thought.

Today is "Pit Stop Alley" as we talk to the kids about worship, discipleship, and refuel time with God. I'm ready for some refuel.... and strong coffee.

This is Ted. The kids (of all ages!) are having so much fun. I had forgotten how much fun this was for the kids. I had also forgotten how tired everyone was by the end of the day. I don't know about the girls but the boys took about 1.5 hours less before all rooms were silent (compared to yesterday). It's 11:30 now and I haven't heard anything for quite some time. The photos are uploaded so you can view. It's much more difficult this year to photograph everyone because there are so many more kids. But I do have a few more days of "Track Time". My goal is to get some photos of every kid in at least one of their two tracks. ...this is a big campus to cover--especially in the heat of the day (1:00-3:00PM) and a heavy camera. ...but I do have a list and I'm checking off names as I go along.

Here are a few quotes from the kids from today. I typically don't say which kid said it but I have to for this one because character is so important... I was sitting with Daniel Clark today at lunch and he was talking about different foods he likes/dislikes. He tears a piece of his grilled cheese apart, and takes in a bite, chews, pauses... "....I think my mom's grilled cheeses are better." ...but the way he said it was as though he was trying to get his point across but at the same time not criticize whoever had made that sandwich for him. Classic! So Bonnie--Your grilled cheeses are the best.

Anna Winstead has a quote but it's just too long to put in the blog. Apparently, there is a method of determining the origins of peas because, "these are obviously the generic brand." ...and then she went continued to explain to everybody how one tells the difference...

Chris Giddens confessed to the kids today that he, "was a nerd." Nah!!! Really?!

We're sweating....

Ok, so the dry summer has turned humid on us. I thank God for that. Last night after the kids went to bed it rained a good rain here at camp. It's been cooler today, yes and humid. But, it feels like Georgia. I still don't understand that "dry heat" stuff... hot is hot.

Kids are having much fun. We have 2 in Archery. One in wiffle ball. I want to play wiffle ball. Tommy arrived today and helped me fix my forgetfulness. The kids are getting ready to get our group picture. We'll be all sweaty and looking fine for it.

We rocked out some fine breakfast and a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday for Melanie. (she wanted to hide) It's because most of the folks at breakfast sang with us... some looked at us funny. We're well known now at camp as the "peanut butter jelly time pleasant valley church folks." It's good to have a rep.

The kids are hearing the gospel presented all day. Pray many truly turn to Christ or rededicate themselves to day. Would you be a brave enough parent to pray "Dear God, if it's your will call my child into full time service" or "Dear God, if it's your will, help my kid sense your call to be a missionary"? Are you that brave?

They're asleep now... at least that's what they just told me. It's been a great day.

Some had Starbucks Frappachinos. One had 2, but she's a girl and not my problem.

Hey there's a girl here from my home town. I've embarrassed her already. "WOOO WARRENTON!!!"

2 kids played in the championships of rock paper sissors... one lost, one one. Scissors is the best choice.

Ok, real stories tomorrow... a door creaked and someone is probably coming in to tell me someone is keeping them awake... or something is.

We have arrived. It's been an interesting day. Everything has worked on time. Sorry for the bit of scramble this morning, but all our stuff has arrived and done so on time. Romans 8:28 days are a fun ride. More details later, but everything has gone GREAT. All the kids are unpacking and getting ready for the rest of the day. They have a LONG HAUL for the rest of the evening.

We're going to supper at 5:00 and non stop until almost 10. It's action packed and God filled. He's been teaching us all day today... sometimes we don't realize it, but He is.

The kids have been spectacular. A couple of times we've had to say "guys and girls be patient" and BAM they're awesome. Actually they're always awesome, just extra. Thanks for letting them experience this camp with us.

You guys are probably logging in to check to see "if this new fangled thing works"... HA it does. Be praying for us as we travel to Centrikid 2007. Be praying for our mission team in the Ukraine while they travel!

Melanie and I visited Lee Ann Smith last night at Scottish Rite. Be praying for that family and all the sadness they are enduring. Pray for them to have strong hearts. Lee Ann has much to recuperate from and she'll need our support.

So, on we go to Toccoa Falls! IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!!

Getting all plans finalized for traveling to camp when news of Thursday's bad accidents come into the office. Our prayers go out to the family. We lift up the Smith family for their loss and recovery.

We'll be traveling to Toccoa Falls in 4 vans. Kids in 3, luggage in 1. We're not going on interstates for safety (and nerves). Just be praying as we travel highway 20, 369, and up to Toccoa on 365. Take plenty of time praying for Jody, Tater, Ted, and me as we drive. It'll be a longer journey by not going the interstate, but a bit safer.
